The Basic Diver program is a one day experience tailor-made for beginners, featuring an equipment introduction, essential dive theory, and hands-on in water training with our seasoned Instructors. Once you’ve nailed the skills, head out to explore 2 of our beginner-friendly dive sites for an unforgettable underwater adventure.
You’ll dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters in small groups of no more than four divers per instructor. Soak up the best vibes!
SCHEDULE
- We start 9:30 with an introductory theory session that last around 90 minutes. After a short break we head to our amazing boat where we will do 2 dives
- On our first dive we are going to start very shallow. We will practice a few skills, and then it will be time to go diving!
- The second dive will be even better than the first one: we will discover another dive site and enjoy an open water dive of up to 12 metres.
- We will finish at around 4:30pm. Back at Hang Loose you will receive your Basic Diver Recognition Card. How cool is that?
OPEN WATER: 10,500thb
Get ready to kick off your diving journey with the Open Water Diver Course at Hang Loose Divers, Koh Tao – the perfect start and most popular diving course for beginners! You’ll explore the stunning underwater world of Koh Tao while mastering the skills to dive up to 18 meters anywhere globally.
This dive course breaks down into three key parts: engaging digital theory, hands-on confined waters practice, and six awesome dives at our beginner-friendly spots across Koh tao and Koh Nang Yuan Islands.
Days one and two mix diving theory with getting comfy in your gear. Guided by our expert instructors, you’ll then move to confined sessions where you’ll learn to breathe comfortably underwater and master fundamental diving skills needed as an Open Water Diver. Back at the boat we will change our tanks and jump in again to dive up to 12 metres.
In Day three you’ll apply your confined water-learned dive skills surrounded by the vibrant marine life of Koh Tao. From corals to turtles, it’s an underwater adventure like no other!

We start our theory session at 9:30 and after the lunch break we head to the boat. We will start with easy but important skills and then we will enjoy amazing dives to up to 12 metres. We will be back at the dive shop at 4:30 pm: time for some dibriefings and logging your dives!
DAYS 3: is all about diving! Early start at 8am to get to the best dive sites in Koh tao to perform 2 open water dives at 18 metres. After these amazing underwater adventures we will be back at Hang loose at 12pm ready to certify you as an Open Water Diver for life!
